Product Review: Ion Repair Solutions Effective Care™ Treatment

Today after a morning battle of stripping out box dye gone bad, I went to Sally's to see what new protein treatments they recommended to try for salvaging borderline gummy hair.  After talking with the staff, I came home with two items to try, ion Repair Solutions Effective Care™ Treatment and Brazilian Tech Keratin Leave-In Treatment.  They were said to be not only as effective as any expensive name brand keratin treatment, but were on sale to boot!

ion Repair Solutions Effective Care™ Treatment comes in a variety of sizes, from 1oz trial packs to 33.8oz bottles, and since I knew I was going to need more than just one or two treatments, I went with the second largest 20oz bottle.

Bottle Details:

Front Description: Strengthens and Moisturizes Weak, Damaged Hair, 100% Vegan.  (I hadn't noticed that it was vegan when I purchased it, but when I was looking it over once I got home, I was pleasantly surprised.  I have a total weakness for vegan, and organic products.)  

Back Description:  Salon Solutions for Healthy Looking Hair.  Provides intensive strengthening and moisture.  Use daily to fortify dry, damaged, weak hair with proteins.  Leaves hair softer, stronger and healthier looking.

Directions:  After shampoo, massage into wet hair.  Leave in 1-2 minutes.  Rinse.  For excessively dry or damaged hair, leave in 3-5 minutes.

Caution: Use only as directed.  Avoid contact with eyes.  If contact occurs, rinse with water.  For external use only.  Keep out of reach of children.

My thoughts:

I am actually quite surprised at how effecting this product is on bleached to heck hair.  When I came back from Sally's my hair was still a bit mooshy soft, and I knew I had to get some protein on it before the moisture left my hair completely leaving brittle hair.  Forgoing instructions, I didn't shampoo my hair, nor did I leave it on for 3 to 5 minutes.  My hair needed protein and it needed a lot right now.  I slathered it all over my damp hair, and let it sit for several hours before washing it out.  The smell is nice, very mild sweet smell, like creamsicles.  Even after one treatment, my hair feels more hearty.  I'll stick with it for a few more weeks, and I expect it will be exactly what I needed.  Definitely a good one to try when in need of emergency repair!
